Thank you, 2010!

From the bottom of my heart, I would love to say my thanks to each and everyone of you --

For bearing, cheering and supporting me in my highest and specially the lowest moments,
For staying true with me, indirectly or bluntly straight in the face, in order for me to be a better me,
For just passing by yet made an impact to the ever so thirsty for inspiration me,
For the time, patience and wanting me to be in your lives,

And last but not least;

How can I not forget HIM?
For allowing me to survive another year -- be it for the best or for the worse, I'm here for reasons only HE knows better.

Thank you, 2010;
For the "done a little bit of everything, little bit of everywhere and little bit of everyone" moments :')

Bring it on, 2011!

Ole Ole Bali -- FB Pixelated!

A colleague of mine took an extra mile on sharing random pictures of us having dinner in Ole Ole Bali the other night -- and I just got to share, tanda appreciate sangat!

We had no clue at all when he memo-ed us a link saying the pictures were up.

Upon clicking on the link, this is what we saw :-

OH PLEASE PLEASE CLICK THE IMAGE FOR A BIGGER, AWESOMER VIEW!

This is way cool than going thru one photo after another, ayte?
Thanks, Hilman!

Ole Ole Bali, Sunway Pyramind was scrumptious much! Satay lilit! Cumi goreng! Pisang bakar! Barley lime juice! Bali trio! All FTW! The romantic ambiance -- memang sesuai bawa pacar sambil omong lirik lagu cinta bersama berdua bahagia! Three salutes for their good service as we were quite a crowd that night, hehe. I'll share pictures once I got hold of it from the others, okay? :')

p/s - And I haven't re-activated my FB yet -- if that answers you little kepochis ^^

played against the Malaysian under 23 team 18 months ago. Quite a good team,” he said.

Southeast Asians are major users of Twitter and Facebook with Indonesia
having 15 million tweeters, the third highest after US and Brazil while
Malaysians have the most Facebook ”friends” averaging 230 friends per users.

Single, Chinese Looking and *cough* RM10K richer.

This was taken last Monday, tapi gambar baru dapat so yeah, bukan salah Along ah lambat update. I guess I don't have to introduce the familiar faces in this picture, except for the fella in the center. That's Azizulhakim, or Jijul as we fondly call him. Bila dia mengada, kami panggil dia Jijah =p

For those who noticed Elmo & Jijul's tee, yup, they were the contestants of the Sony Detik Bersama Handy that recently ended. The reality show was aired every Sunday at Astro Ria, which I stopped watching it after Elmo was eliminated, hehe. We, friends were proud of him nevertheless, and because of Elmo too, we got to know who the heck is Jijul -- one talented young fella alright!

This was us, meeting Jijul for the effin first time. All this while membahan dia, eh followed him on Twitter, we decided to celebrate his birthday and watched Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah together -- yeah we are super friendly lots like that.

Eh ape nak citer senarnye ni?
Uyeh, so the reality show ended with two last contestants -- Jijul and this other fella, Faz.
Since kiteorang ni memang bias dan bersifat kroni kental -- itupun dibasuh hari-hari oleh Elmo dalam Twitter, of course we rooted for Jijul. And alhamdulillah, Jijul won first place -- a whole 10K richer woohoo!

Source

Elmo won the Home Viewer's Choice of Video -- which apparently made us proud and tickled at the same time. Mana taknya, the video -- Stop Motion in Kuala Kangsar -- was like the most criticized one!! Yeah, kami juri pengkritik tak bertauliah commented every bit (since we know Elmo could do much better about it!) yet the video gained top votes, hehe.

But coming from my own experience, never underestimate the power of friends who voted for you ^^

So Jijul, single and 10K richer -- you have my dedicated-private-only-for-you number, right?

I'M KIDDINNNNGGGGGG LAH weh people please lahhh.
You could view all Jijul's work throughout the Detik Bersama Handycam here -- my favorite would be the one he & Faz collabo for the Mirage - Pesawat clip. -- coz that's where Jijah originates! =p

All in all, kira settle ah sape team videographer untuk wedding Along nanti.
Kan Elmo kan?
Kamu dan Jijul kawtim lah eh?
FOC, kan?
Kan?
=P

First time loners? Or alone much? Read this.

If you are at first lonely, be patient. If you've not been alone much, or if when you were, you weren't okay with it, then just wait. You'll find it's fine to be alone once you're embracing it.

We could start with the acceptable places, the bathroom, the coffee shop, the library. Where you can stall and read the paper, where you can get your caffeine fix and sit and stay there. Where you can browse the stacks and smell the books. You're not supposed to talk much anyway so it's safe there.

There's also the gym. If you're shy you could hang out with yourself in mirrors, you could put headphones in (guitar stroke).

And there's public transportation, because we all gotta go places.

And there's prayer and meditation. No one will think less if you're hanging with your breath seeking peace and salvation.

Start simple. Things you may have previously (electric guitar plucking) based on your avoid being alone principals.

The lunch counter. Where you will be surrounded by chow-downers. Employees who only have an hour and their spouses work across town and so they -- like you -- will be alone.

Resist the urge to hang out with your cell phone.

When you are comfortable with eat lunch and run, take yourself out for dinner. A restaurant with linen and silverware. You're no less intriguing a person when you're eating solo dessert to cleaning the whipped cream from the dish with your finger. In fact some people at full tables will wish they were where you were.

Go to the movies. Where it is dark and soothing. Alone in your seat amidst a fleeting community.
And then, take yourself out dancing to a club where no one knows you. Stand on the outside of the floor till the lights convince you more and more and the music shows you. Dance like no one's watching...because, they're probably not. And, if they are, assume it is with best of human intentions. The way bodies move genuinely to beats is, after all, gorgeous and affecting. Dance until you're sweating, and beads of perspiration remind you of life's best things, down your back like a brook of blessings.

Go to the woods alone, and the trees and squirrels will watch for you.
Go to an unfamiliar city, roam the streets, there're always statues to talk to and benches made for sitting give strangers a shared existence if only for a minute and these moments can be so uplifting and the conversations you get in by sitting alone on benches might've never happened had you not been there by yourself

Society is afraid of alonedom, like lonely hearts are wasting away in basements, like people must have problems if, after a while, nobody is dating them. but lonely is a freedom that breaths easy and weightless and lonely is healing if you make it.

You could stand, swathed by groups and mobs or hold hands with your partner, look both further and farther for the endless quest for company. But no one's in your head and by the time you translate your thoughts, some essence of them may be lost or perhaps it is just kept.

Perhaps in the interest of loving oneself, perhaps all those sappy slogans from preschool over to high school's groaning were tokens for holding the lonely at bay. Cuz if you're happy in your head than solitude is blessed and alone is okay.

It's okay if no one believes like you. All experience is unique, no one has the same synapses, can't think like you, for this be releived, keeps things interesting lifes magic things in reach.

And it doesn't mean you're not connected, that communitie's not present, just take the perspective you get from being one person in one head and feel the effects of it. take silence and respect it. if you have an art that needs a practice, stop neglecting it. if your family doesn't get you, or religious sect is not meant for you, don't obsess about it.

You could be in an instant surrounded if you needed it.
If your heart is bleeding make the best of it
There is heat in freezing, be a testament.

The more difficult for me to say goodbye at every meet up, the more I understand how lucky I am to have them. Sangat.

"It's like my heart is a tooth, and it's got a cavity that can only be filled with children. " - Gru/Despicable Me

Guess who's back for a super duper oh so short while?

Yup, it's Jenn alright.

By the time this entry is published, she might be already arrived back in Medan. Her flight was this early morning -- sent her off from home as I had a bus to catch myself. Her homecoming was pretty unannounced, I didn't even do countdowns or plans -- and tak sempat langsung Along nak cakap apa-apa; er,except I manage to tweet about her homecoming. Heh.

Anyhoots, she was here since last Thursday; less than 6 days to restock her stuffs and loves. Her coming home on a weekday meant we didn't get to actually catch up -- well, mostly it's because I was commuting back & fro and she was busy, er, being out and about. And sempat demam bagai.

Btw, buat yang menanyakan sakit tulang belakang Jenn, one of the reasons she's home sebab nak buat check up juga. The doc says she's okay, bleh naik kuda and bungee jumping bagai da -_-" But Jenn cakap nak rukuk dalam solat pun payah -- let's hope it's because her spine is too well rested and would be okay in the process, eyh?
So last Sunday was the only opportunity for us to be sisterly giddy much sambil menjalankan arahan Ummi Ayah untuk shop for bebarang rumah.

We miss you mucho much, Angah :')

Bawak adik-adik shopping groceries ni ada sikit-sikit sakit jantung jugak weh.

Speshly when these two have their own agendas -- selain menyakat each other, that is.

Zaki would once in awhile hilang dari kiteorang just becoz he's busy collecting/eating/bringing us free food samples =P

'Aliya would non-stop comparing the shopping list and the things I put in the trolley. "Nape Along amik sabun ni, takdepun dalam list, cukup ke duit nanti?" T___T

The two would behave for a little while before making the supermarket as if makpak kiteorang yang punya. Main nyorok-nyorok between aisle adalah scary and fun at the same time. Sometimes Jenn & I had to stay put in one aisle longer when the little ones goes MIA, at least we are still there if they were looking for us. Bukan tak tegur/marah/jerit, but these two, just can't stand still. Ada masanya kiteorang plak yang menyorok from them, konon nak give them a fright/lesson for straying away from us -- tapi pastu kiteorang yang panik sebab takut derang tak jumpa kiteorang viceversa huhu.

Belum lagi bila the little ones tuh da start lapar and penat; cranky lain macam. Pujuklah bagai nak rak, selagi boleh dilayan, layankan je as long as they don't make a scene. Tapi kalau cranky tetiba mintak PSP, hoih moh balik rumah sekarang!

I guess I'll see you in February then, cik?
Go steady with the workload there and don't force/burden your spine much, aight.

And thank you for the telekung and tudung, harga adik beradik tu selalunya gratis aja kan? EH.

p/s - I just watched Despicable Me -- (thanks to Jenn for bringing us back the vcd) and I just can't stop rephrasing them every bit! The adorable annoying minions and unicorn lover Agnes -- they are so fluffy I'm gonna dieeeeeeeee!!

Alwani & Fard

This may be a weekend too late to update about Alwani & Fard's Garden Wedding, but I just got hold of the pictures (eventho not all of it, grr!) to share with you peeps.

I was so looking forward to this wedding siap countdown bagai so imagine my feelings when I realised I left the camera at home!?! Even till today, when I look back at the so few pictures I had of the beautiful wedding, isk -- boleh tak rasa cam nak ketuk kepala banyak kali ha tapaya la tolong ketukkan la plak sedih ni :(

Alwani's shared blog with her then fiance was one of a few bride-to-be blogs yang buat Along eager to read more tanpa rasa "Ugh, gila competive nak kawen these days!" -- I loved how she shared tips and what's not -- all done with a humble manner, no trace of hatred -- even when things don't turn out as planned. Rasa cam tenang je baca walaupun hello, wedding preps la yang paling stressful okaayy. And oh, bila Fard and Alwani gilir-gilir update was like the sweetest gesture between them two ^^ Read them here!

So I went there with AJ & Pejo, Dieyla and 'Aliya even tagged along. We were somehow late -- er,tatau pasaipa *jeling sesape yang patut* -- so I kinda expected missing some familiar faces that I wanna meet at the wedding. On getting there, Dieyla kinda knew the way so the pretty unique map was kept away for our momento. Plus with all the big and clear roadsigns along the way, it was impossible for anyone to get lost!

Sampai je, terus makan.
Tapi sambil nak ambil makanan tu, mata dok melilau admiring the surrounding, how perfect the weather was -- calming breeze accompanying the reception, it was something I imagined for a garden wedding theme alright :')

Alwani came by our table, looking pretty different, (differently pretty that is) in baby blue turquoise-ish and pink, and I couldn't stop staring at her haha. Sebab I don't get to see Alwani selalu -- and now, she's a married woman! Gah!!

Alwani got my tongue tied all twisted up when she asked; "Takkan tak nak self snap kat wedding wani ni kot lonnnng?"

Truth is, I just can't do my self snap with the pengantins dengan kamera orang lain. I just cant. Jadi pelik sampai ada orang ke empat and why suddenly got flash arghh! So so sad.

Wani, aci wat reception lagi sekali tak? T___T

But things were getting better for me when I saw a handsome fella with wavy hair, perfectly clad in his baju melayu cekak musang, eating away while waiting for me *perasan* -- any guy in baju melayu konfem cair hatiku weh!

Even if the fella is just a two year old! ^^

Meet Farell, arjuna kecil Foxyfarah
It has truly been awhile since I last hold him in my arms -- geez, dah nak dapat adik da, handsome boy ni ^^

Farah was glowing that day, extra extra glowing if I may add -- seriously made me put to shame sebab dia dah nak masuk anak dua still cantik je. And composed. And calm. Unlike me yang ugh, should I ever start? Haha. Twas nice meeting you, dear -- we'll meet up again before lil' Sharifah pops out soon eyh?

To Alwani & Fard, this is not exactly what I wanna write on the card -- I wanna say you look pretty, tapi cam obses sangat dengan Wani sorang -_-" so I said you looked perfect but of course you both ARE a perfect match konfem lah you look perfect for each other see how I'm defensing myself see see how.

You know I mean well, kan Wani kan?
Nothing but the best for a whole new journey for both of you.
And be blessed by Him, always.
Always.

Thanks for having me, you know I wouldn't miss it for anything!

p/s -To AJ,Pejo & Dieyla; thank you for bearing with this mad lady who left her camera at home T__T
p/p/s - Click on the links in the entry, please do -- and read other people's say on this gorgeous wedding!

MAYSAA M'SIA: LIVE FASHION / LOVE MUSIC -- The Humble Review :)

Yuna : "Mana? Mana review Along pasal event Maysaa tu mana? Manaaaa? Nak baca!!"

Hana : "Wheeeeeeere's the effin review for the Maysaa event, where isssittt?"
Translated (you never know if Hana reads here, again. =p)

By now, you peeps may have a rough view on what happened at the Maysaa Live Fashion/Love Music by reading other greater blogs such as Ami's, Sue Anna Joe's, Shea's, Miss Yanny's or Jezmine's -- just to name a few.

This humble review from a small fan may not give a huge impact of the big fashion world but I represent the (voluntarily hehe) us minors; just in case Yuna & Hana plans to do a sequel to the event!

Mind you that this is not a sourgrape-ish review as I enjoyed and glad that I attended the awaited event. *flips shawl*

I was given the understanding that it was a free event with limited seats opened to the public. From the information that we received, there's about 150 seats to be occupied during the show. So imagine the early birds who lined up for hours prior to the showtime only to find out that the 150 seats included press and medias :( When asked to the good looking fellas who were in-charged of the guest registrations, they replied "We didn't expect this huge turnout."

Our jaws dropped that instant.

Like Hello, we are talking about Yuna right here!
She's already won big in our hearts for her music & style.
And there's Hana Tajima -- might be quite new to the household name especially to the guys (too little too late eh now misters? haha!) -- but Hana is like the icon for us hijabis! THE Hana Tajima, from UK, with her fashion line. Epicness.

So combining them two -- you should be very much prepared for the eager beavers!

And with invites spread like wildfire in Tumblr, Facebook and on Twitter, not to forget, bloggers who can't sit still when knowing the event was confirmed for us -- let say, the promotion was well covered and reached the targeted people -- more than expected, I guess.

Coz I realised those who came were not only us ladies, but gentlemen too -- who apparently were not so much gentlemen when it comes to pushing and squeezing with us in the line. Boo you! I don't wanna mention on how the event should prioritise on the ladies more than the guys, but seeing them getting through somehow left us wanting to shout something bias! Grr!

So Naja & I didn't get in to the show, but somehow lingered around the area while mingling with familiar faces. Which we were glad we did just that coz we were happy lots to finally meet up and make new friends, sungguh. :')

The venue was in MAP Solaris so it has a classy, artsy touch added for the event -- understandable for a pax of 150. But Yuna & Hana, please consider a bigger, friendlier venue which unfortunately I can't think of any suggestions at the moment.

As the event was held on a weekday, many took leave and thought they were only one who gung-ho enough to do so for the sake of Yuna & Hana. Er, don't look at me eyh, I just got too many leave balance that need to be finished =P

The meet and greet session was expected a hit -- but caught us by surprise since all of us were busy mingling after the show with those who didn't. We only knew Hana & Yuna were already seated when a few ladies running and squealing to White Box, which is opposite of the Black Box. How did Yuna & Hana passed us by without us noticing, don't ask.

We didn't wait to take pictures with Yuna & Hana as we had other plans waiting for us -- and seeing the long line, oh well, we just couldn't afford to wait. We left with mix feelings, happy yet disappointed (just a teeeeeny weeny bit), satisfied yet there's a feeling it could be done better. And oh, thumbs up for the refreshments -- the cupcakes are delish!

Nevertheless I always believe there's room for improvements and hopefully Yuna & Hana's team will not be demotivated for a bit, coz u did an awesome job for a first timer in Malaysia, that is! Thank you for organizing, hearing and bearing with us the fans, and mostly, thank you much for the time.

"That's it? That's ALL it?"

"Geez. And I thought Along was gonna be so emogothic on us and say nasty things and and and..we should leave a comment on her blog once in awhile, shall we Hana?"

Last line was just kidd-inggggggg.

Coz no matter what, I still adore you two to bits! XO!
Thanks so much, again and again!

MAYSAA M'SIA: LIVE FASHION / LOVE MUSIC -- Them Gorgeous Ladies!

So this post is dedicated to them gorgeous ladies that I rub shoulders with that day -- thank you much for making this one acne scarred face lady so happy!

This lady need no introduction -- at least to my loyal readers lah kan? ^^ Nevertheless, this is my Naja Zulkefli -- yeah tak malu claim my Naja sebab perasan our father's name is almost the same (different spelling tho) of course la I'm the kakak comot and she's the pretty adik hihi. Ah tu tak penting! Yang penting, she's my inspiration, my second almost Wani Ardy, Ikmal's girlfriend and if you just felt the same way as I do to her, you might as well check her tumblr too!

To hijabis who are tumblr addicts, you might know the pretty Pika -- and ohsemly radiantly fair if I might add!  I first got to know her when Yuna featured Pika's one of a kind shawl tutorial in her tumblr. I don't have the patience (yet!) to try it out, but that style -- who would have thought eyh? ^^

Thanks Pika -- for stopping by and took pictures with us!
You got another fan in me *virtual XOXOs*

Make way now for Maria Elena Zarul (centre) is in the house y'all!

I saw Maria and Jezmine lining up just a few (all mashed up) people in front of me to get into the Black Box; and my instant thought was -- "hell gonna break lose if Maria tak dapat masuk weh." You'll get what I mean by that if you have been reading her blog -- it's just KE-RAYHH-ZEE! Dah la super friendly in person, she clicks with everyone instantly -- I bet those who met her just loved her to bits ^^

And hello to Rina too! She's Yana Peti Suara's little sister -- adik beradik datang event camni I miss my Jenny even she won't give a hoot about this haha.

I must must must say my thanks to Izan for saying hi to me first -- coz I didn't expect anyone to recognize me there, like seriously! And Izan -- gosh, can I say that I am still in disbelief after seeing you, LIVE -- after all the time I 'knew' you as Sagichick and on twitter -- you are not what I imagined! Haha, please please don't get me wrong but I felt heyyyyyyyyy -- this petite and oh so adorable lady couldnt be married woman and a true workaholic just yet!

Thanks sangat tegur, ajak gambar dua tiga kali, appreciate it much, dear! Xoxo!

Can we skip this picture please?
Of all the pictures taken with the famous Sue Anna Joe, I just had to be awkwardly-hunchback-ah-geramnya-asal-Anna-ni-kecik-sangat-weh! She blogged about the event, complete with stunning pictures in Countthethread -- click now!

And pretty pretty petite Aimi! A familiar face during the zaman kegemilangan bloggers dulu where Aimi is Elle's good friend and we last met erm, in 2008? Haha. I appreciate that Aimi recognized me still -- and completely threw herself to me when we hugged each other! Along suka bila orang beriya peluk me ye ye Along memang kurang kasih sayang begitu haha. But stilllllll, that is Aimi that I knew -- Aimi memang jenis appreciate everyone and she's ever willing to take the extra mile for her love ones -- including bringing her nieces to the event! Comels!

It was so nice meeting and hugging you, Aimi dearie -- I'll email you the pictures later on, eyh? ^^

Saw Hanna Rabittah and Wyda from afar -- had trouble remembering their name and it took me awhile to go up to them and confessed!! I KNOWWWW memang embarrassing gilaaaaa sebab I know I've read Hanna's blog before tapi was too overwhelmed seeing so many bloggers/tumblrs I just can't recall who's who OKAY ALASAN SANGAT KO NI LONG.

Well at least the 5 seconds of embarrassing confession really was worthwhile for they were humble friendly lots! Read Hanna's blog here -- and you'll get to see Wyda in there too as they are extremely tight y'all!

This is the lady who stopped us from going inside the Black Box and crushed my hopes to see the show by asking us to disperse from the long line and can still look pretty cool despite running here and there and and gosh this is Cheq Wawa-lah, Yuna's cousin slash the wonderwoman #2 in Yuna's busy affairs..

.. coz the wonderwoman #1 goes to Yuna's mom yang comel jeeeeeeee cakap "Why would you wanna take pictures with me eh come comelah together" haha. Thanks Aunty for being such a sport -- jealous jap dia ingat Ikmal lagiiiiiiii!

I missed quite a lot of opportunity to mingle with other ladies despite recognizing them -- I so wanna say hi to Nurul Cakap Cakap (and her sisters) coz I bought the black shawl from her, Miss Yanny, Ami Sptnkswthrt yang lalu lalang depan I, Jezmine, Shea Rasol ( dapat cakap kejap sebab she got to go inside already), Emmy Lady Gagamelan, and other stylish hijabis tapi sebab tak aktif tumblr/pemalu/takut/inferior/insecure/memang mengada camni -- maka padan muka now menganga je ah GAHHH!

Oh well.
I'm sure there'll be a next time, kan Yuna kan kan?
KAAAAAN? *tarik selendang tu karang*

So which look you loved most?
It could be anyone from the other blogs you've read -- tell me tell me please, who knows we share the same view too! ^^

P/s - Next (and last) post; The Review! Phewh.
